Roe Deer Skull #00057

This is the skull of a female roe deer!

The roe deer is a small cervid native to Europe. A closely related, slightly larger species, the Siberian roe deer, lives in Asia. The two species occasionally hybridize.
This is a nice female example of the species with the mandible and attached atlas vertebra. Females of this species are actually rarer than males in collections – this is the only one I’ve ever had available! It’s also fairly uncommon to find a roe deer with the mandible. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This specimen is not from an ESA-listed species and is legal to sell and possess. US sales only, sorry!
