Ring-Necked Pheasant Skull #00087

This is the skull of a ring-necked pheasant!
The ring-necked pheasant (Phasianus colchicus) is a gamebird native to Eurasia. It was introduced to North America in the late 1700s and flourishes there. It is widely hunted in both its native range and introduced locations.
This is a nice example of the species. It has some minor damage to the underside. It was beetle-cleaned and whitened in strong hydrogen peroxide. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This specimen is a legal bird skull – it is not from an ESA- or MBTA-listed species and is legal to sell and possess. US sales only, sorry!
