Cougar Skull #00186
This is the skull of a cougar!
The cougar or mountain lion is a large cat native to most of North, Central, and South America. Despite its size and appearance, it is more closely related to the small cats of the subfamily Felinae.
This unusual young adult example is in great condition with nice teeth and intact nasal turbinates. Interestingly, the lower left canine of this specimen did not fully emerge, possibly due to injury or infection. It has been beetle-cleaned, degreased, and whitened with hydrogen peroxide. It measures 7 1/4 inches long and 4 1/4 inches wide. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This specimen is not from an ESA-listed species and is legal to sell and possess. However, cougar parts cannot be sold to all states, so please know your local laws before inquiring. US sales only, sorry!
