Tar Pit Bird Bone Fossil #00281
This is a fossil bone assemblage from a Pleistocene bird!
This fossil features a large and nearly perfect tibiotarsus of an unidentified Ice Age avian and several other bone fragments incased in the original tar pit matrix. Sourced from an old collection, this specimen was originally collected decades ago from the Maricopa asphalt seep in Southern California. A Pleistocene (Ice Age, 10,000+ years old) fossil, it predates the Migratory Bird Treaty Act by thousands of years and is legal to sell and possess.
This excellent fossil is in fantastic condition with beautiful color and solid preservation. It even still has that asphalt smell! Please review all pictures and description for condition.
