Sheep Kidney Corrosion Cast Specimen #00272

This is a beautiful corrosion cast of a sheep kidney!

This is a corrosion cast of a real sheep kidney. Corrosion casts are made by draining all the fluid from an organ, then carefully injecting colored resin or wax into the blood vessels. The specimen is then gently macerated to remove remaining organic tissues. What you’re left with is the exact cast of the circulatory system of the organ. Each specimen is unique!
This beautiful specimen is in excellent vintage condition with only minor losses. It was made by the Denoyer-Geppert Science Company, though they no longer seem to offer real animal specimens. It’s the only example we have had or come across.
Sourced from a teacher’s collection, this specimen is at least 40 years old. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This piece is not from an ESA-listed species and is legal to sell and possess. US sales only, sorry!
