Kamchatka Brown Bear Skull #00432

This is the skull of a Kamchatka brown bear!

The Kamchatka brown bear (Ursus arctos beringianus) is a large and distinct brown bear subspecies. It is the largest Eurasian brown bear, comparible in size and ancestral to the Kodiak brown bear of North America. This subspecies is rare in US collections.
Sourced from a US collection, this skull was legally taken on the Kamchatka Peninsula in the early 2000s. At the time, it was the 27th largest bear harvested! It measures roughly (not calipered) 16 inches long and 10 1/2 inches wide. It has some condition issues – it’s greasy and has some flaking, and is missing a few teeth – but it is an incredibly impressive piece overall. Certainly one of the largest bear skulls we’ve ever offered for sale, if not the largest! Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This specimen is not from an ESA-listed species and is legal to sell and possess. However, brown bear parts are restricted in some states, so please know your local laws before inquiring. US sales only, sorry!
