Alexander Archipelago Wolf Skull #00492

This is the skull of an Alexander Archipelago wolf!

The gray wolf is a canine native to North America, Europe, and Asia. It is the largest extant wild canid and is highly social and intelligent. The Alexander Archipelago wolf (Canis lupus ligoni) or Islands wolf is a distinct subspecies of the gray wolf endemic to the islands and coastal areas of southeast Alaska. Like many island-dwelling populations, it is smaller than the mainland subspecies.
This is a beautiful extra large example of the subspecies with intact nasal turbinates and excellent teeth. It measures 10 1/2 inches long. This specimen is from a research collection. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This specimen is not from an ESA-listed population (ID, MT, and AK populations are not listed) and is legal to sell and possess. However, gray wolf parts cannot be sold to all states, so please know your local laws before inquiring. US sales only, sorry!
