This is the skull of a black-tailed prairie dog!
The black-tailed prairie dog is a medium-sized ground squirrel native to the Great Plains of North America. It is a highly social species that lives in large colonies.
This is an excellent example of the species with all teeth and intact nasal turbinates. It was beetle-cleaned, degreased, and whitened with hydrogen peroxide. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
