Salt’s Dik-Dik Taxidermy Mount #00577
This is the taxidermy mount of a male dik-dik!
Dik-diks are small antelopes native to the bushlands of Africa. Only the males possess horns. Dik-diks have a short proboscis thought to help prevent overheating. Rarer than the more commonly seen Kirk’s dik-dik, Salt’s dik-dik is found in the Horn of Africa and has a grizzled grayish coat.
This is a nice mid-century vintage taxidermy mount of the species. It is in great vintage condition with only slight losses to the ears. In our experience, mounts of this style almost always have the full skull inside. Please be careful if you decide to remove it, though, because old taxidermy mounts were often preserved with harsh chemicals. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This specimen is not from an ESA-listed species and is legal to sell and possess. US sales only, sorry!
