This is the skull of a tayra!
The tayra is an unusual mustelid native to Central and South America. It resembles a fisher with a light-colored face and head and an orange patch of fur on the chest. This species is quite rare and sought-after in collections.
This is a beautiful subadult example of the rare species in excellent condition. It died naturally in captivity. It was beetle-cleaned, degreased, and whitened with hydrogen peroxide. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This specimen is not from an ESA-listed species and is legal to sell and possess. US sales only, sorry!
