Red-Handed Tamarin Skeleton #00627
This is the skull and skeleton of a red-handed tamarin!
The red-handed tamarin is a small monkey native to South America north of the Amazon. It is also known as the Midas tamarin. Unlike most primates, tamarins have claw-like nails.
This is an interesting pathological adult example of the species that passed in captivity. It had some sort of degenerative bone disease that affected nearly every bone in its body. This specimen is in good condition with natural losses associated with the pathology. It was beetle-cleaned, degreased, and disinfected with hydrogen peroxide. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This specimen is not from an ESA-listed species and is legal to sell and possess. US sales only, sorry!
