Fossil Brontothere Tooth Pair #00639

These are the teeth of a Brontothere!

Brontotheres were a family of early perissodactyls related to rhinos, tapirs, and horses that lived around 56–34 million years ago during the Eocene. Later forms resembled rhinos with paired facial horns. They were some of the earliest mammals to evolve large body size, with some species standing up to 2.5 meters tall.
Acquired from an old US estate, this is an excellent pair of upper molars from the North American genus Megacerops (previously Brontotherium and Titanotherium). Both are in excellent condition with no restoration. These teeth are rare and attractive collector’s items. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
As fossils, these specimens are not from ESA-listed species and are legal to sell and possess. US sales only, sorry!
