Fossil Hyracodon Mandible #00640

This is the mandible of a Hyracodon!

Hyracodon was a genus of small, horse-like early rhinoceros that existed from the Late Eocene to the Early Miocene in western North America. It had long, slender legs and no horns.
Acquired from an old US estate, this is an excellent and largely complete mandible, likely of the species H. nebraskensis. It measures 7 inches long and has several well preserved teeth. The fossil is mounted on a plaster stand and has no restoration. Fossils of this species are much rarer than the contemporary oreodonts. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
