Northern Greater Galago Skull #00670
This is the skull of a northern greater galago!
The northern greater galago is a small strepsirrhine primate native to Africa. It is nocturnal and arboreal with a small native range. This species is one of the few strepsirrhine (lemuriform) primates that is not protected by CITES or the ESA, but it is still very rare in the US. We have only seen one other example available, and it’s in our collection.
This is a vintage US captive specimen in good condition. It was stained black from soot from a house fire, but the bone condition is good and unaffected. We left the stain for the story, but it could likely be removed with an acetone soak. It is naturally missing a molar but is otherwise a prime mature male example of the rare species. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This specimen is not from an ESA-listed species and is legal to sell and possess. US sales only, sorry!
