Linnaeus’s Two-Toed Sloth Skull #00726
This is the skull of a Linnaeus’s two-toed sloth!
The Linnaeus’s two-toed sloth is a famously slow-moving arboreal mammal native to South America. It is one of two two-toed sloth species, distinguished from the distantly-related three-toed sloths by the number of digits on its front limbs. This species is rare and highly sought-after in collections.
This special example is the only sloth skull we have ever seen with pathology. It has a healed wound on its forehead, either from a fall or a bite. Sloths are fragile animals, which is perhaps why specimens with evidence of healed wounds with bone involvement are so rare. This skull is in good condition with all teeth. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This specimen is not from an ESA-listed species and is legal to sell and possess. US sales only, sorry!
