This is the skull and baculum of a lowland paca!
The lowland paca is a large rodent native to Central and South America. Adults have enlarged, rugose zygomatic arches that are used as resonated chambers for calls. Skulls of this species are highly sought-after in collections.
This is a beautiful subadult male example of this rare species. It was beetle-cleaned, degreased, and whitened with hydrogen peroxide and is complete with all teeth and intact nasal turbinates. The baculum is included but not pictured. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
