This is the skull of a common brushtail possum!
The common brushtail possum is a mammal native to Australia and introduced to New Zealand. It is nocturnal and semiarboreal with a prehensile tail. Though it is also a marsupial, it is not closely related to the New World opossums.
This is a great example of the species with intact nasal turbinates. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
