This is the skull of a lowland bongo!
The bongo is a large forest-dwelling antelope native to sub-Saharan Africa. It has a beautiful striped red coat and spiral horns in both sexes. This is the lowland or western subspecies.
This is a beautiful stillborn example of the species in excellent condition. It has intact nasal turbinates and a great set of emerging deciduous teeth. This species is rare in collections and highly valued. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
