Striped Skunk Skull #00987

This is the skull of a striped skunk!

The infamous striped skunk is a familiar black and white mammal native to North America. Like all skunks, it possesses musk-producing scent glands that it wields to ward off potential predators.
This is an interesting pathological example of the species with good teeth. The sinuses of this specimen show erosion from a parasitic nematode that commonly infests the frontal sinuses of spotted skunks and related species, though this is the first striped skunk with the affliction we’ve had. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This specimen is not from an ESA-listed species and is legal to sell and possess. US sales only, sorry!
