Brown-Throated Three-Toed Sloth Skull #01063

This is the skull of a brown-throated three-toed sloth!

Yes, three-toed sloth! The brown-throated three-toed sloth is a famously slow-moving arboreal mammal native to South America. It is one of five three-toed sloth species, distinguished from the distantly-related two-toed sloths by the number of digits on its front limbs. Three-toed sloths are virtually unheard-of in collections, and thus highly sought-after. This is the only example we’ve ever offered for sale.
Sourced from an old US collection, this vintage piece is missing the lower jaw and teeth. It is a great example otherwise, large for the species and with solid bone condition. You likely won’t find another! Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This specimen is not from an ESA-listed species and is legal to sell and possess. US sales only, sorry!
