Four-Horned Antelope Horn Plate #01072

This is the skull plate of a four-horned antelope!

The four-horned antelope or chousingha (Tetracerus quadricornis) is a small antelope native to India and Nepal. Its closest living relative is the much larger nilgai. Males of this species are the only extant wild bovids that can naturally have up to four horns! It is considered by some to be the most primitive of the bovids. Some early fossil forms in the family also possessed more than two horns.
This vintage specimen is in good condition for its age with some writing on the skull plate and putty on the horns. Material from this species is incredibly rare in collections! Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This specimen is not from an ESA-listed species and is legal to sell and possess. US sales only, sorry!
