The bowmouth guitarfish is a ray native to the tropical coastal waters of the western Indo-Pacific. This unusual fish is a popular fixture in some public aquariums, and has been bred in captivity. Though it is rare in the wild according to the IUCN, this assessment has no bearing on its legality as the species is not ESA-listed.
Sourced from a US collection, this beautiful captive example is in excellent condition. It measures 9 inches wide and 5 inches tall and is the only example of this species we have ever offered. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This jaw is not from an ESA-listed species and is legal to sell and possess. US sales only, sorry!
