The short-beaked echidna is an unusual egg-laying monotreme mammal native to Australia and New Guinea. It is covered in spines and well-adapted for digging. It is a toothless insectivore with a greatly reduced mandible. Skulls of this species are expensive and almost impossible to find – if you need one, don’t miss out!
This is a solid upper skull of the very rare species with some damage to the rostrum. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
