This is the skull of a dusky grouse!

The dusky grouse (Dendragapus obscurus) is a grouse native to the Rocky Mountains of North America. Also called the blue grouse, it is a popular gamebird but somewhat challenging to hunt due to its high-elevation habitat.
This is a nice example of the species. It was beetle-cleaned and whitened in strong hydrogen peroxide. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This specimen is a legal bird skull – it is not from an ESA- or MBTA-listed species and is legal to sell and possess. US sales only, sorry!
