American Pika Taxidermy Mount #01117
This is the taxidermy mount of an American pika!
The American pika is a small mountain-dwelling lagomorph (rabbit relative) native to western North America. Skulls of this species are extremely rare, and this is the only taxidermy example we have seen.
Mounted by the New York taxidermist George H. Lesser in 1931, this is an interesting almost-antique example of the rare species in good condition for its age. It would not be difficult to restore it if desired. The teeth are real. Though we cannot guarantee a full skull, in our experience, mounts of this style often have the skull inside. Please be careful if you decide to remove it, though, because old taxidermy mounts were often preserved with harsh chemicals! Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This specimen is not from an ESA-listed species and is legal to sell and possess. US sales only, sorry!
