This is the skull and skeleton of a Brazilian prehensile-tailed porcupine!

The Brazilian prehensile-tailed porcupine is a large arboreal rodent native to South America. It has a long prehensile tail that it uses to grip branches while climbing.
This is an excellent large adult example in beautiful condition originally from Skulls Unlimited. It has an unusual pathological skull. This individual died naturally in captivity. The skeleton was beetle-cleaned, degreased, and whitened with hydrogen peroxide. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
