Virginia Opossum Skull #01198

This is the skull of a Virginia opossum!

The Virginia opossum is a cat-sized marsupial native to North America. It is the only opossum species found north of Mexico. This species is known for “playing possum” or feigning death when it is threatened.
This is a really cool pathological adult example with advanced dental disease. It appears to have had a large abscess in the lower jaw. It is missing a portion of the rear of the skull, but is otherwise excellent. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This specimen is not from an ESA-listed species and is legal to sell and possess. US sales only, sorry!
