This is the skull of a spotted hyena!

The spotted hyena is a large feliform carnivore native to sub-Saharan Africa. The species has an undeserved bad reputation as a cowardly scavenger. In reality, spotted hyenas are active hunters and highly intelligent with complex social lives. Hyena skulls are highly coveted and hard to find.
This is a beautiful example of the species in good condition with excellent bone quality. It measures 10 1/4 inches long and 6 1/4 inches wide. It is missing a few tiny teeth. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
