This is the articulated skeleton of a Rio Cauca caecilian!
The Rio Cauca caecilian is an aquatic, limbless amphibian native to Colombia, Venezuela, and possibly Trinidad and Tobago. It is sometimes kept as an aquarium pet, where it is known as the “rubber eel.”
This is an excellent ligament-bound US captive example of the species. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
