Binturong Skull #01458

This is the skull of a binturong!
The binturong or bearcat is a large and unique viverrid native to South and Southeast Asia. It is famous for being one of the largest species of viverrid (alongside the African civet) and for having a popcorn-like scent. The viverrids are a family of feliform (cat-like) carnivores. Binturong skulls are very rare and highly coveted in collections. We have only seen a handful available ever!
This is a fantastic captive male example of the rare species in excellent condition with beautiful bone condition from an old collection. They don’t get any better! Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This specimen is not from an ESA-listed species and is legal to sell and possess. US sales only, sorry!
