Mexican Needlefish Skull #00592

This is the skull of a Mexican needlefish!

The Mexican needlefish is a relative of the houndfish found only in the eastern Pacific. The long, narrow, toothly jaws characteristic of the group can be dangerous to anglers and swimmers alike. Although incidents are rare, people have been seriously injured and even killed by needlefish.
This is an excellent large example of the uncommon species sourced from an old US collection. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This specimen is not from an ESA-listed species and is legal to sell and possess. US sales only, sorry!
