Domestic Dog Skull #00725

This is the skull of a domestic dog!

First domesticated over 15,000 years ago from an now-extinct wolf lineage, the dog was the first species to be domesticated by humans. Today, there are hundreds of distinct dog breeds that vary widely in size, appearance, and behavioral traits.
Sourced from an old collection, this special antique specimen is a deaccessioned piece from Penn State! It dates to the early 1900s. The mandible is wired to the skull and it exhibits a necropsy cut. The exact breed of this specimen is unknown, but it resembles a beagle or other hound. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This specimen is not from an ESA-listed species and is legal to sell and possess. US sales only, sorry!
