Domestic Ferret Skull and Baculum #00835

This is the skull and baculum of a domestic ferret!

The ferret is a small mustelid that was domesticated from the wild European polecat about 2500 years ago. It was originally used to hunt burrowing animals but is most often kept as a companion animal today.
This is a beautiful adult male example of the species in excellent condition. The baculum of this individual is included but not pictured. It died naturally in captivity. It was beetle-cleaned, degreased, and whitened with hydrogen peroxide. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
