This is the skull of a spotted hyena!

The spotted hyena is a large feliform carnivore native to sub-Saharan Africa. The species has an undeserved bad reputation as a cowardly scavenger. In reality, spotted hyenas are active hunters and highly intelligent with complex social lives. Hyena skulls are highly coveted and getting harder to find.
Sourced from a US collection, this is a large mature specimen. Unfortunately it was headshot and is missing the cranium, though the rest of the skull is in good shape with excellent dentition. This one would be great for crafting. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
