Striped Hyena Skull #01226

This is the skull of a striped hyena!

The striped hyena is a large feliform carnivore native to Africa and Asia (this is the East African subspecies, Hyaena hyaena dubbah). All hyena skulls are highly coveted and hard to get, and a striped is an even rarer find!
Sourced from a US collection, this is a nice young specimen with great teeth. It has some pathology on the lower right mandible and slight damage to one auditory bulla. There is excess glue around the nasal bones. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
