This is the skull and hyoid of a southern tamandua anteater!
The southern tamandua is a small species of anteater native to South America. It is one of four recognized extant species of anteater.
This is a beautiful adult example of the species in excellent condition. It died naturally in captivity. It was beetle-cleaned, degreased, and whitened with hydrogen peroxide. The hyoid is also preserved in this specimen. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
