Giant Forest Hog Skull #01433

This is the skull of a giant forest hog!

The giant forest hog is a suid native to forests of Africa. It is the largest extant wild pig alongside some populations of the wild boar, and a very rare find in collections.
This is a very nice extra large adult female example from our personal collection and one of the only examples of the species we’ve ever offered for sale. The lower tusks don’t appear to be original, but fit well. The upper tusks may be original, but they are loose. Regardless, it is an excellent and rare piece that displays beautifully. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
