This is the preserved stillborn fetus of a six-banded armadillo!
The six-banded armadillo is an unusual armored mammal found in South America. It is named for the six bands on its carapace. It is the third largest extant species of armadillo, only outsized by the giant armadillo and greater long-nosed armadillo.
This is a cute stillborn fetal example of the uncommon species preserved with formalin. It is an older specimen, but still in good condition. It was stillborn in a US facility. A jar is included. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
