Tar Pit Fossil Bird Corvus sp. Leg Bone Pair #01504

This is a pair of fossil Corvus sp. leg bones!
A rare opportunity! This is a pair of fossil leg bones (one femur and one tarsometatarsus, not associated) from a Pleistocene fossil corvid species. Sourced from an old collection, these specimens were originally collected decades ago from the McKittrick Tar Pits. The exact species is unknown, but there were at least three Corvus species found at the site.
These excellent fossils are in fantastic condition with beautiful color and solid preservation. They even still have that asphalt smell! Fossils from this site date to the late Pleistocene and are between 10,000 and 50,000 years old. Riker box included. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
As fossils, these specimens are not from an ESA-listed, MBTA, or otherwise protected species and are legal to sell and possess. US sales only, sorry!
