Common Hippopotamus Skull #01586

This is the skull of a common hippopotamus!
The famous common hippopotamus is a huge semi-aquatic artiodactyl native to sub-Saharan Africa. It is a popular fixture in zoos around the world, and its impressive skulls are highly sought-after in collections.
From our personal collection, this is an incredible SUBADULT common hippopotamus skull! It is the only example from this age range we have ever seen available, with mixed deciduous and emerging adult dentition. Measuring a petite 17 inches long, it is truly special! It is a vintage piece from a 1960s estate. The skull is in excellent vintage condition with a few tiny putty repairs. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This specimen is not from an ESA-listed population and is legal to sell and possess. However, hippo parts are restricted in some states, so please know your local laws before inquiring. US sales only, sorry!
