This is the skull of a spotted hyena!

The spotted hyena is a large feliform carnivore native to sub-Saharan Africa. The species has an undeserved bad reputation as a cowardly scavenger. In reality, spotted hyenas are active hunters and highly intelligent with complex social lives. Hyena skulls are highly coveted and getting harder to find.
This is a nice large adult example of the species in good condition. It measures just under 11 inches long and 7 inches wide. Like many safari specimens, it was slightly roughly cleaned and is missing a few teeth, and the price reflects this. An impressive skull at a budget price! Please review all pictures and description for condition.
