Lowland Nyala Skull #00303

This is the skull of a lowland nyala!

The lowland nyala is a large and highly sexually-dimorphic antelope native to southern Africa. Females and calves have a reddish-brown coat with vertical white stripes. The males possess spiral-shaped horns and a blue-gray coat with reduced striping.
This is an interesting pathological male example of the species. It broke off its left horn early in life – you can tell by looking at the horn core that it happened long ago and healed over. Its remaining “normal” horn is long and beautiful. This skull is in great condition with all teeth, but could use further degreasing. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This specimen is not from an ESA-listed species and is legal to sell and possess. US sales only, sorry!
