This is the skull of a domestic guinea pig!
The guinea pig was originally domesticated as early as 5000 BC from wild ancestors in the Andean region of South America. Originally used for food, it is now a popular small pet.
This is nice example of the species in good condition. The mandible is glued to the maxilla. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
