Fossil Extinct Vero Tapir Jaw #01275

This is the fossil jaw of an extinct tapir!
The Vero tapir (Tapirus veroensis) was a tapir species native to North America during the Pleistocene. It was closely related to extant South American tapirs and went extinct approximately 11,000 years ago.
Sourced from an old collection, this is a fantastic nearly complete jaw half with a beautiful brown preservation and chocolate-colored teeth. All extant tapir species are protected, so if you want legal and ethical tapir material, a fossil is the way to go! Please review all pictures and description for condition.
A fossil, this specimen is not from an ESA-listed species and is legal to sell and possess. US sales only, sorry!
