Brown-Throated Three-Toed Sloth Skull #01306

EXTREME RARITY ALERT! This is the skull of a brown-throated three-toed sloth!

Yes, three-toed sloth! The brown-throated three-toed sloth is a famously slow-moving arboreal mammal native to South America. It is one of five three-toed sloth species, distinguished from the distantly-related two-toed sloths by the number of digits on its front limbs. Three-toed sloths are virtually unheard-of in collections, and thus highly sought-after.
Sourced from our personal collection, this is a fantastic male example in great vintage condition. It has a perfect set of teeth and an attractive aged patina. This specimen has a small amount of repair around the foramen magnum and a tiny amount on the mandible, but is overall excellent. You likely won’t find another! Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This specimen is not from an ESA-listed species and is legal to sell and possess. US sales only, sorry!
