Crab-Eating Macaque Skull #01591

This is the skull of a crab-eating macaque!

The crab-eating macaque is an Old World monkey species native to Southeast Asia. Alongside the related rhesus macaque, this species of macaque is common in zoos and research facilities. Though wild populations are declining, this is a captive specimen and the species is not protected but the ESA.
This is an excellent vintage subadult male example from a US research collection. It has one missing incisor tooth and the jaw is slightly ill-fitting, possibly due to mixed deciduous and adult dentition in this specimen. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This specimen is not from an ESA-listed species and is legal to sell and possess. US sales only, sorry!
