This is the fossil tooth of a mastodon!
The American mastodon (Mammut americanum) was a large browsing proboscidean related to elephants. It was native to North America and went extinct at the end of the Pleistocene.
This is a bargain rare molar tooth from a juvenile mastodon recovered in a Florida river. It is in good condition with most of the roots intact, and displays some natural wear. Baby mastodon teeth are hard to come by and usually go for several hundred dollars more. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
A fossil, this specimen is not from an ESA-listed species and is legal to sell and possess. US sales only, sorry!
