Rousette Fruit Bat Skull #01624

This is the skull of a rousette fruit bat!

NOTE: We would normally not support selling bat products, as many species are protected or unethically collected. However, this piece is from an unprotected species and came from Skulls Unlimited, so we are confident it was sustainably sourced.

Rousette bats are small fruit bats in the genus Rousettus native to Africa and Asia. There are 7 species currently, and none are CITES- or ESA-listed. Rousettes are the only megabat species that use vocal echolocation.
Originally from Skulls Unlimited, this is an excellent example of the type in great condition. It was mislabeled as a large flying fox. The exact species is unknown, but may be R. leschenaulti. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This specimen is not from an ESA-listed species and is legal to sell and possess. US sales only, sorry!
