Common Hippopotamus Skull #01019

This is the skull of a common hippopotamus!

(This is a courtesy listing for a friend!)
The famous common hippopotamus is a huge semi-aquatic artiodactyl native to sub-Saharan Africa. It is a popular fixture in zoos around the world, and its impressive skulls are highly sought-after in collections.
This is an excellent large adult example from an old US collection. It measures an impressive 28 1/2 inches long and has a fantastic set of teeth – the tusks are all original! It does have minor damage and putty around the bases of some tusks and teeth, but it is a great example overall and certainly nicer than most. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This specimen is not from an ESA-listed population and is legal to sell and possess. However, hippo parts are restricted in some states, so please know your local laws before inquiring. US sales only, sorry!
